Author to Author Review of Mystic Journey

For those of my friends who like a hot book on a cold night, Mystic Journey written by Ronna Gage, is steamier than a hot toddy. It has a compelling storyline (rare, i find in erotic romance) and pushes you along to the ending. Awesome, awesome.

The excerpt on the site was more than a little captivating. I actually couldn't wait to order and cursed my computer for downloading so slowly. I have to admit I have a penchant for historical romances that make me wish it was me being hunted! The characters jump off the page and the author does a tremendous job of transporting me into the fluid paragraphs of the book. I have to say, I was sad to see it end...

Do you like a three way world of fun?

Then you'll love Friends and Lovers
by Ronna Gage

Erotic romance so hot you'll cream your panties.

Blurb:
Kena Bass found the man of her dreams in Dan Madison, and she made sure those dreams came true. When good friend Elana suffers a personal crisis, Kena and Dan come to her rescue, helping her sort out her feelings. Passions and lust are cast away on a houseboat filled with Friends and Lovers.

Excerpt:
She turned the knob and let the hot water run, a humid mist filling the room. The tension in her shoulders relaxed with the sounds of the running water. She added a spoonful of vanilla-scented bath crystals and sat on the tub, watching the odd shaped crystals dissolve in the running water. Her mind jumbled with many thoughts; plans for a new avenue to gain credits, her lack of confidence in the male human species, and of course, that set off another round of fantasies starring Dan Madison.. In no time at all, the relaxing effects of the additive joined the misty atmosphere. Kena inhaled a deep, cleansing breath. Fatigue lightened her mood. No longer grumpy, she undressed and squatted down in the water until her body lay submerged just below the surface. Shutting her eyes, she cleared her mind of all the stresses: school, studies, and credits. An image formed behind her closed eyes. Her eyes popped open, and she gasped.
“What is it with this guy? I can’t stop thinking of him.” Curious, she let her eyes shut while the fantasy took her to another place. Immediately his naked body took center stage in her dream. His gentle touch on her skin warmed her with his heat. She made love to this total stranger in a hot spring brook surrounded by various vegetation; a true tropical paradise. Slow and sensual strokes on her clit incited a rush of tingles that swept over her nipples, and her breathing escalated. Her heated sex contracted with each rushed dream sequence, the many ways to make love to him. Ways she’d never imagined—well, maybe imagined, but never lived out in such detail. Kena loosed a deep moan. Her hands explored her body. She combed her fingers through the curls between her legs. Her middle finger grazed her slit and then entered her pussy. A small hiss escaped her lips with the rising vibrations inside her. For quite some time, masturbation was the only sex available to her. However, it never felt this good. Her legs opened wider, and her fingers plunged in, sending an urgent, aching need for attention to her nipples. She rolled one of them between her thumb and finger until she was at the edge of her orgasm, and just at the right time, when she couldn’t hold back anymore, she pinched it. Ripples of erotic currents expanded through her body. Her back arched, she let out a scream of gratified release.
Quivering lips begged for the one person she wanted the most. “Dan!” Her body trembled from the powerful waves within her. Once they slowed, Kena opened her eyes. Shaky puffs of breath she couldn’t catch earlier slowed to regular rhythm. A huge smile eased onto her lips. Calgon, couldn’t take me away any better! That was the most intense orgasm I’ve ever had in my life. The new experience sent a sense of empowerment through her.
There was one problem with this new sensation: Will I ever feel it with Dan? A man who has no idea I even exist.

Mystic Journey by Ronna Gage

Erotic romance so hot you'll cream your panties!

Blurb:
In the essence of time, few things are constant. However, two virtues remain steadfast, vengeance and love. One born of the other takes centuries to unravel and peace is nothing more than a tinge of silver lining the gray fog.

SIZZLING EXCERPT:
The path to the bathing river was clear. The closer she got to the riverbed; the louder the splashing of water.
With great care, she peeked through the bushes and saw Lords Aldrich and Alec sitting on the rock next to the river. Serena scanned the river twice before the rising hysteria took root. Where was Gavin? At that moment, he shot up out of the water. Relief washed over her in the same way the water sloshed off Gavin’s body.
His long torso bulged with toned muscle, his stomach firm and flat, his hair long and cleaned of the blood that had caked it yester morn. She became dizzy and breathless. He strolled to his two companions. His manly member hung down his muscled thigh.
“Beatrice is a liar?” She murmured to herself. Beatrice might have been older than Serena by two summers, but she was still ignorant to the body of a man. Even a year’s marriage Beatrice found reason to spin a dramatic flare for the truth. “Gavin’s member didn’t protrude out of him like a third arm.”
Serena knew she should turn her head, but she couldn’t tear her gaze away from the sight of Gavin’s naked body. Swallowing hard, she continued to watch him. In her hiding spot, she was free to linger her gaze on him—she took that liberty and assessed his body thoroughly. Beautiful, that he was, without a doubt, beautiful! His muscled arms bulged as he stretched them above his head to heaven. His chest rumbled in a burst of laughter. Her womanly parts moistened with her growing curiosity.

PROMO MYSTIC JOURNEY

Blurb:

In the essence of time, few things are constant. However, two virtues remain steadfast, vengeance and love. One born of the other takes centuries to unravel and peace is nothing more than a tinge of silver lining the gray fog.

Excerpt:
“Doctor Williams, Dr. Sabine Williams, you’re needed in emergency room two stat. Doctor Sabine Williams, you’re needed in emergency stat.”With no more time to consider her dreams, Sabine jumped out of bed, grabbed her stethoscope, and pushed her feet into her shoes. She ran out the door —back to work.“What do we got people?” Sabine asked. She didn’t wait for a reply but walked straight to the patient stretched out on the gurney. The emergency room staff and paramedics continued their tasks as they explained the patient’s obvious injuries.“Officer Drake Boyd, gun shot wound to the head and right leg.”Looking at the still figure on the gurney, the amount of blood he lost caused Sabine to wonder if her patient would make it. A bandage covered one side of his face. Blood soaked through the layers. She took her penlight from her lab coat and flashed it in his eyes. Hazel eyes. A feeling of awareness came over her.A coincidence? Maybe, a left over effect of her dream. She tucked the sentiment back in her mind and continued her assessment. She would deal with dream analysis later. “Pupils are fixed and dilated, non-responsive. Blood pressure?”“110/30 and holding,” stated the young nurse who assisted Sabine.“Who is the neurosurgeon on call?”Sabine eased the bandage off the patient’s head. She lifted the sheet to cover the wound from debris. Using her finger, she assessed the size of the protrusion, the depth of the wound, and found the lodged bullet under a blood filled mass. His swollen brain tissue disfigured the left side of his skull and forehead.“Doctor Green,” The young finished her assessment of Drake before she answered Sabine’s question. The patient’s head moved, uncovering his face, and Sabine froze. The unconscious patient looked familiar. With trembling fingers, she picked up the sheet that covered his body. Blood soaked the dark blue polo shirt of his uniform. Her mind blanked out of everything but her patient. She knew this man, she was sure of it. His identity evaded her memory, but somewhere in the recesses of her mind, she would place this man’s face and remember his name.A ray of hope brightened her spirits. If he would hold on long enough to get him into surgery with Dustin, he may have a chance. “Call him. We’re sending this patient up, now, ETA two minutes.”Sabine unlocked the gurney and began to roll it out of the room.“He’s crashing, Doctor Williams!” the young nurse alerted her.Sabine’s ray of hope grew dim. She locked the gurney wheels in place and administered CPR. “One thousand one, one thousand two…”“Move Doctor Williams, let me at him.”Someone pushed Sabine away from the patient. She turned and saw Alex Cord step beside her.The strength in Alec’s large hands and shoulders pushed against her patient’s chest cavity. Relieved of the added muscle, she knew he could help keep her patient alive until she got him to the operating rooms.”Start wheeling him down,” Alex demanded of the staff.Sabine jumped on the other side of the gurney; the staff unlocked its wheels and rolled him to the OR. Sabine opened his eyelids with gentle pressure, and with her penlight, she flashed his eyes again.“You can’t die on me Drake. You have to stay with me. I need you…”

Detailing a Story

Writing is a very tedious process. After many years and stories, an author will be able to automatically write a story in a matter of weeks, instead of months, and make details count. If you are new to this craft you will soon , if not already, realize just how tedious it can be. So, I would like to share some hints to help you along.
In my daytime job, I am a teacher. I teach 7th and 8th graders. I love this group of children. They can be so wonderful creatures. One minute, they have all the knowledge in the world. They can handle any problems that come along, fight their way to the top. BUT, when they have a situation, like writing, that challenges their abilities, right away these bright, confident, boys and girls begin to doubt themselves and almost give up. As a teacher, I get to have that one moment of “I told you so!” Then I get to work.
I go over the poster in my room. The Steps of Writing!
1. Rough Draft- this is where the main ideas, the characters’ involvements, the plots begin. This is just the beginning. Where your idea forms, and you implement your research and your report or story together.
2.Second Draft- This is where you fill in the details paragraph by paragraph. (I ask a few basic questions that help to bring out such information.) Sensory assessments *What does it look like? *What does it smell like? * What emotions does the character react/act with, to the scene or other character?s around them, *What does it feel like in the scene? Is it hot, cold, warm, cool. These are great context clues to a paragraph. What is detailing any way? Clues to give the reader the idea of a season, a texture, a smell…sweet, savory, stinks…etc.
Editing- This is where you check for spelling words, usage of vocabulary, repeated phrases, crutch words, making sure the research fits the situation realistically.
Critiques- I added this one for manuscript writers like us. It is not in my classroom, although I am thinking of using this step. Student's can get good feedback from a critique if it is done properly. Basically, this is where you send it to your critique partner or group for their views, opinions, and suggestions. A good diverse group will be beneficial here.
Final Draft- The end result. This is the draft you send out to offer a publisher.
Some wonderful tools to use in your craft!, A dictionary- Of course. Thesaurus, grammar book usage, You can go to a library or bookstore in your area to get a great handbook. I suggest personally the Avoid Writer’s Hell handbooks by Faith Bicknell Brown. I use mine alot. Editing Bootcamp by Michele Bardsley. She has an official web page in which she helps authors in need. I will add this to the bottom.
